Most Ukrainians oppose holding elections during war – ARMY.AZ

A majority of Ukrainians (66%) are against holding elections during the war, believing that elections should take place after martial law has been lifted.

Army informs via Ukrainian media that, according to a poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre’s sociological service from February 28 to March 6, 2025, only 22% of respondents support the idea of holding presidential or parliamentary elections before the war ends.

When asked how soon after the war and martial law elections should be held, 36% believe Ukraine should hold a presidential election immediately, 35% suggest six months after martial law ends, 16% say one year later, 2% prefer two years, and 4% support even later dates.

The survey also reveals that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the trust of 60% of respondents.

However, a majority of respondents do not trust former advisor to the president Alexey Arestovych (88%), former Prime Minister and leader of the Batkivshchyna party Yulia Tymoshenko (83%), former President and leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko (75%), and head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak (67%).
