Azerbaijani President meets with Sudanese leader in Antalya

President Ilham Aliyev met with Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan, in Antalya on April 11.

Army.az  reports that the Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan noted the historical ties between the two countries. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is an important country with great influence both in its region and in the world.

Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan said that Sudan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan in various fields and noted that there are good opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the mining industry, oil, energy, infrastructure, investments and other areas.

During the conversation, issues of cooperation in the fields of education and training were also discussed.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan’s participation in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement member states in 2019 and the discussions held during the visit. It was then emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan have developed on an upward trajectory.

The meeting exchanged views on the organization of mutual visits of economic delegations to expand relations between the two countries, and cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations was noted.
