Iran has not yet responded to a letter from US President Donald Trump demanding a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear program within two months, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, Army informs via Armenian media.

“We have not yet responded to the letter from the US president. The response is in preparation,” he said during a briefing in Yerevan with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

He further emphasized that Iran will not engage in direct negotiations with the United States under pressure, military threats, or increasing economic sanctions. “But we are in favor of creating transparency around our nuclear program and are ready to negotiate in this direction. We have never left and will never leave the negotiation table,” he added.

Last week, Axios reported, citing sources, that US President Trump, in a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, demanded a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear program within two months.

In February 2025, Trump signed an order restoring the maximum pressure policy on Iran. Trump stated that he does not intend to escalate into military confrontation with Iran and hopes to reach an agreement on Iran’s nuclear issue to avoid conflict.
