Within the framework of the month of Ramadan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s representative office in the Russian Federation organized a solemn iftar ceremony in Moscow.

According to the Russian bureau of Army, the event was attended by the public, representatives of diplomatic corps, science and cultural circles.

The event was opened with an introductory speech by Tamilla Ahmadova, Head of the Humanitarian Programs Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Representative Office in the Russian Federation. She thanked the guests for taking the time to attend the iftar dinner organized at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Foundation.

“I believe that this evening should be spent in unity, brotherhood, and good mood. The month of Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food and water, but also a call to cleanse the heart, open the soul, and tune in to a good mood,” said T. Ahmadova.

Touching on tolerance and interfaith harmony in Azerbaijan, Tamilla Ahmadova emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our country has become not only a political and economic leader in the region, but also an important center of intercultural and interfaith dialogue.

“T. Ahmadova emphasized that the Karabakh issue has always been painful and important for the Azerbaijani people. Now, finally, thanks to the wise leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, we have achieved its solution,” she noted. T. Ahmadova also called on Azerbaijan to commemorate the martyrs who returned Karabakh.

It was also noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation carries out large-scale work to support the low-income, the homeless, and those in need, and all this is a small part of its activities under the leadership of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.

The ceremony was continued by Nazim Ismayilzadeh, Deputy Director of the Foundation’s Representative Office. He emphasized the spiritual importance of the month of Ramadan, noting that this month calls on people to purify themselves, be merciful, be kind, and support each other.

Ismayil Asadov, Advisor to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation, also spoke at the event and conveyed the sincere wishes of Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev. In his speech, he noted the important role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well as its representative office in Russia, in strengthening Azerbaijani-Russian relations.

The Iftar continued with a musical performance by the “Buta Trio” ensemble, which created a festive mood and emphasized the atmosphere of spiritual harmony.
